Director of Business Development

Job Summary: 

Videk, Inc. is seeking a creative, high-energy, team player to join its growing US Customer Operations Team. The Director of Business Development is a highly collaborative, influential, and experienced senior leader responsible for initiating and closing sales opportunities, which will accelerate Videk’s growth and profitability. This selling position achieves these goals by developing and implementing the company’s business development strategy and tactics to include the expansion of the business by working with existing customer, new prospects, and emerging markets.

This is a full-time position in Rochester, NY.  
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and grow Vision Systems at existing key Strategic Accounts by closing new businesss. 
  • Develop and expand Vision Systems business into new Strategic Markets.
  • Pitch capabilities and communicate unique selling proposition based on prospect needs to high level, C-Suite executives.
  • Convert prospects through a multi-call sales cycle together with the Videk team to build justification.
  • Respond to RFPs, and other contractual agreements; work with greater team to write proposals and SOWs
  • Maintain relationships with clients to ensure project success
  • Develop a working knowledge of the industries served by company products, the applications and value proposition of products, how and why they are used.
  • Complete a call report for each sales visit with details on progress made, objections identified, action plans and competitive information/market intelligence gathered.
  • Deliver product presentations.
  • Attend industry trade shows and customer events. 
Must have: 
  • 10 or more years of sales or business development experience in the print and mail industry or other technology. 
  • Track record of closing high-value deals with proven history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience leading and executing full sales cycle (prospecting through closing and retention/upsell)
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Be self-motivated and capable of developing, organizing, and executing action plans to meet established objectives.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally

Pluses: Bachelor of Science degree preferably with an Engineering Discipline. Proven experience in technical, strategic sales.

Note:  It is desired that this position is based out of Rochester, NY but can be anywhere in the US, preferably near a major airport. This is a full-time position.  Salary to be commensurate with education and experience.

Manufacturing Engineer

Videk is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the procedures, documentation, and continuous improvement to facilitate efficient production throughput and quality.  The engineer will be on the manufacturing team and work closely with the product development team.

This position is full-time and located in Rochester NY.
  • Initiate programs to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing team
  • Assess product quality risks
  • Ensure procedures and test fixtures are in place for quality assurance
  • Train team members on new and updated procedures
  • Assist Product Development to ensure feasibility and eliminate manufacturing issues
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering experience 
  • At least 2 years of experience directly relating to manufacturing
  • Solid math and analytical skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Work well independently and on a team
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of common QA and QC quality systems and their standards and techniques
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems
  • Strong analytical skills that lead to identifying areas of low efficiency and ability to plan and implement improvements
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
  • Management experience
