Customer Service Coordinator

Job Description

Videk, a leading machine vision manufacturer and service provider, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to add to its Customer Technical Support (CTS) team.  The position will be based out of Rochester, NY, and may require up to 10% travel domestically. The person in this position reports to the Director of Technical Support.

This is a full-time position in Rochester, NY.  

Job responsibilities include:

  • Manage active customers’ regular business and after-hours call list to maintain up-to-date account information, preferred dispatch method and cycle, and scheduled rotations for assigned Application Engineers. 
  • Organize customer technical support materials for active accounts, customer awareness to service-level agreements (SLA) and all required support documentation. SLA information to include escalation procedures and thresholds. Support documentation to include product manuals and support videos.  
  • Track and maintain service contracts monthly, including awareness on contract renewal dates, extended warranties, spare parts availability, and billing confirmation.
  • Maintain schedule and coordinate onsite effort for customers with routine preventative maintenance. 
  • Alert customers of component obsolescence, end-of-life, and end-of-service conditions and act as liaison for those seeking information on replacement kits, last time buys, and extended warranty agreements. 
  • Support marketing and communications in the development of customer satisfaction (CSAT) surveys and analysis of customer data for maintaining target CSAT scores. Follow up with customers with low CSAT scores to determine methods for improving.   
  • Aid in developing and refining quality management system (QMS) procedures for improvement of organizational efficiency. QMS purview to include such areas as return merchandise authorization (RMA) and service contract renewals and tracking. 
  • Update key customer issue tracker for weekly review by senior management team. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; background in technology or engineering a plus.
  • 2+ years working in a technical, customer-facing role with experience in service-related functions. 
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

Business Development Specialist

Job Summary: 
Videk, Inc. is seeking a creative, high-energy, team player to join its growing US Customer Operations Team. This person will play a key role in filling the Sales Funnel for Videk’s Quality Control vision inspection system product lines. The Sales Engineer will work to build the sales pipeline by calling on new prospects and current customers to identify needs to drive sales opportunities through the selling cycle. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

This is a full-time position in Rochester, NY.  
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop the sales pipeline through the existing domestic customer and prospect base through targeted sales visits, regular telephone, and email contact.
  • Expand the customer base through prospect conversion to new end-user. Add prospect candidates through telephone cold calls, customer references and trade shows. Convert prospects through a multi-call sales cycle together with the Videk team to build justification.
  • Screen incoming presale inquiries, coordinate early sales process.
  • Make outbound calls to follow up on leads from marketing campaigns or customer events.
  • Visit and develop new prospects at their sites to further qualify and scope the sales opportunity.
  • Complete a call report for each sales visit with details on progress made, objections identified, action plans and competitive information/market intelligence gathered.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the industries served by company products, the applications and value proposition of products, how and why they are used.
  • Complete existing Customer Surveys, visit current customers to gather information on current product usage, benefit. 
  • Write and maintain detailed Customer Profiles:
    • Targeted Prospects, Named Accounts and Key Vertical Markets
    • Coordinate to put our team in front of end customer.
  • Deliver product presentations via webinars.
  • Maintain Prospect Pipeline spreadsheet.
  • Write basic Product Quotations.
  • Develop Partner Education Programs
  • Assist Marketing and Communications with written materials including case studies.
  • Attend industry trade shows and customer events.


Must have: 
    • Strong organizational and communications skills: technical writing and public speaking.
    • The ability to work under minimal supervision- a self-starter, independent attitude.
    • Must be a self-motivated and capable of developing, organizing and executing action plans to meet established objectives.
    • Able to travel (up to 50%) in US.

Manufacturing Engineer

Videk is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the procedures, documentation, and continuous improvement to facilitate efficient production throughput and quality.  The engineer will be on the manufacturing team and work closely with the product development team.

This position is full-time and located in Rochester NY.
  • Initiate programs to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing team
  • Assess product quality risks
  • Ensure procedures and test fixtures are in place for quality assurance
  • Train team members on new and updated procedures
  • Assist Product Development to ensure feasibility and eliminate manufacturing issues
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering experience 
  • At least 2 years of experience directly relating to manufacturing
  • Solid math and analytical skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Work well independently and on a team
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of common QA and QC quality systems and their standards and techniques
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems
  • Strong analytical skills that lead to identifying areas of low efficiency and ability to plan and implement improvements
