Application:
Verify that an address-bearing mailpiece is correctly inserted and viewable through a window envelope.

Solution:
Every finished envelope passing through the inserter is captured by the Videk vision system. The image is analyzed in order to verify that the address is readable and can be sent to the Post Office. By accurately reading the postnet code, the assumption can be made that the insert has been placed correctly in the envelope and that the address is present and readable. If the postnet code cannot be read, then the vision system will indicate that there is a problem with that piece. The system sends a signal that is used to mark the piece, divert it or halt the line so that an operator can intervene. The results of the production run are also available for collection and reporting.
