Videk's roots started back in the early 1970's as an Eastman Kodak engineering department. In 1985, Kodak launched Videk as a venture company, and in 1986, the first vision systems were shipped to customers. In 1992, Videk was acquired by Performance Technologies, and then Danfoss Inc. in 1995 and was renamed Danfoss Videk. In 1999, Videk spun-off as an independent company.
