Videk Enters into Partnership with Omnitron AG

Agreement strengthens Videk VisionSensor product line with all-in-one smart camera


ROCHESTER, NY - Videk has entered into a partnership with Germany-based Omnitron AG, a manufacturer of data matrix and bar code readers, it was announced today. Videk will be Omnitron's exclusive distributor of its recently introduced data matrix reader in North and South America and the Pacific Rim.  In addition, Videk will have worldwide sales and distribution rights for all print and mail market applications of Omnitron's new generation of high speed reader for the low end of the price spectrum.    The agreement was effective August 3, 2001.

The partnership allows Videk to enhance its product solutions with the addition of a powerful easy-to-use, "point and shoot"  CCD camera-based system for data matrix specific applications.  The product will carry Videk's proven and long established VisionSensor branding.  The new VisionSensor 2340 allows customers to scan data matrix codes on transaction-based documents (billings, statements, policies, etc.) for intelligent machine control in the insertion of customer-specific direct marketing pieces, for personalized mailings, for example.
