High speed inspection of plastic cards for integrity of key features.
Solution:
Videk vision system cameras are integrated with the card manufacturing and personalization process to assure that vital components of each card are correctly produced. OCR, 1D code and 2D code reading tools verify legibility and matching content. Results from these tools' operations can also be match verified and logged against data read from the magnetic stripe or embedded chip on the card. The vision system's dimensional measurement and print quality tools are used to evaluate card parametric attributes such as presence and position of magnetic stripes, signature panels, scratch off patches and key graphics. All Videk vision system results, including match verifications, are output for process audit trail data logging.
In more advanced applications, Videk systems read UV tipping agents embossed on the cards. Specific lighting and optics are required and can be addressed as one of our custom solutions.
