Invisible Ink Printing and Reading Technology is One of Seven New Solutions to be Demonstrated by Videk at Xplor - (10/23/2000)

ROCHESTER, NY - The industry's most advanced invisible ink reading technology will be demonstrated at the Xplor 20th Global Electronic Document Systems Conference & Exhibit by Videk, it was announced today. In addition, Videk will demonstrate six other new state-of-the-art optical scanning and verification technology solutions at its exhibit in Miami Beach, Florida (Booth #2143A).

Xplor will be the first time that Videk will show the public its new VIDEKVISION Print Verification Stand for invisible ink printing and scanning (PVS 8095-IV) featuring VIDEKVISION InviZiReader™ & InviZiCode™ technology. These solutions provide a real-time method to read and decode invisible ink for high speed Optical Character Recognition (OCR), linear and 2D barcodes. Hewlett Packard developed the invisible ink and Gunther International's inc.jet division developed the technology for printing the invisible ink. Invisible ink printing and reading enables the application of high-density barcodes on documents without impinging on the aesthetic elements of the documents. Videk will announce plans for commercial release of the technology at the show.

"This will be the first time that the public can see actual printing and reading of invisible ink in a simulated production environment," said Tom Slechta, president, Videk.

Other new solutions being demonstrated by Videk at Xplor are

  • VIDEKVISION PVS 8095, Print Verification Stand. This stand and accompanying software are currently incorporated into the IBM fleet of production printers that are installed at every U.S. Treasury check production center in the United States.
  • DocuVision™ DV 8095 and InserterVision™ IV 4095. These are the newest releases of Videk's high-performance single and multiple camera inspection systems.
  • VisionSensor™ VS 2310 & VS 2380. These are low-cost, application-specific smart camera systems for multiple symbology and high-speed Data Matrix reading solutions.
  • VisionAnywhere™. This networking architecture is for remote diagnostics and job control of Videk's high-performance inspection systems.
In addition, Videk powered-solutions can be seen in the following exhibitors' booths: Oce Printing Systems, Pitney Bowes, Longford, Surefeed, Gunther International, Gunther Technologies, Document Data Solutions, Gandlake (Lake Image Systems), EMC/Buskro (Lake Image Systems) and Prism.

"The number of new products we are showcasing, and the fact that our solutions will be incorporated in numerous partners' booths, demonstrates the critical role our imaging software plays in print and mail applications," said Slechta.
