We are currently seeking a Level I Algorithm Engineer (Image Processing & Color Science) to join the Algorithm Development Group to implement state of the art image processing, computer vision and machine learning concepts to develop and enhance the next generation of Videk vision products. In this position you will work closely with an experienced and diverse team of developers to research and develop solution concepts, implement prototypes, and integrate them into the software platform. The primary focus of your work will be to explore machine learning and artificial intelligence-based solutions to provide the best cutting-edge performance! This position is full time and preferably at Videk HQ in Rochester NY, but hybrid / remote option also available.

Responsibilities include:

Participate in advanced algorithm development using state-of-the-art machine learning, computer vision, image processing and optimization concepts
-
Integrate solution prototype into software platform
-
Maintain, optimize, and improve product performance and quality
-
Perform technical documentation, product requirements analysis etc.
-
Travel to production site and perform on-site assistance, data gathering, performance analysis etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Imaging Science or similar STEM discipline with demonstrable academic experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision
-
Solid understanding of linear algebra, probability and statistics, calculus, algorithm development and optimization (can be gained through academic coursework, projects etc.)
-
You are comfortable in programming in one or more of the following: C/C++, Python, R, Java
-
0-1 years of experience as a developer (can be personal portfolio or academic projects showing complete solution development)
-
Sound technical communication skills: you are comfortable in technical writing, presentations, and demos.

You can take ownership of your work and work independently as well as a great team player
-
You are not afraid to learn new technology and skills
